The last time I wrote here, my book, Akresha, was new and the centre of my attention. Since then, much has changed, in the form of further books. I have a small body of work that I wish to publish, but the temptation to write more is somewhat compelling. Which is strange, bearing in mind my abject failure at NaNoWriMo this year. I think that was down to a lack of inspiration as much as anything else and not necessarily writing inspiration; but I will leave that one there.
Next up? There are a number of potential candidates, not including Akresha II, as I haven’t written it yet. I have embarked upon a 7 book series, with two, more or less completed; but I have decided to work on an older piece, a little darker and probably not as polished, but I like it so it is next for the editors crop. I am not going into further detail about the book as I wish to dedicate a whole blog to that story. More importantly, I am going to discuss how I intend to change up my pre-publishing work, in terms of marketing.
A bit of honesty here. I didn’t market Akresha and I do have some regrets about that now. Initially, I wanted to sell a book, just one, legitimately and I achieved that aim. Common sense suggested that if I could do it once, then I could do it again, but my marketing savvy was severely lacking. However, I have carried out a lot of research, and discovered a whole new world of confusion, but I have decided on a plan to actually market my next book and am looking forward to the challenge.
So… Here we go and wish me luck. Each new challenge brings us closer to our final aim – Whatever that may.
Adieu
